Meghan McDermott

Meghan McDermott, a member of Cahill’s Banking & Finance and Capital Markets practice groups, represents leading investment banking firms and commercial banks in a brand range of financing transactions involving syndicated institutional loans, leveraged buyouts, secured and unsecured debt securities and equity securities, including initial public offerings and follow-on equity offerings.

Meghan has represented the initial purchasers and underwriters in recent securities offerings, including notes offerings for Caesars Entertainment, Inc. and Fox Corporation, primary and secondary equity offerings for Ryerson Holding Corporation and ADT Inc., and At-the-Market Offerings for Carrols Restaurant Group, Inc. and Danimer Scientific, Inc.  In addition, Meghan has also represented the financing sources for recent bank financing transactions for MSCI Inc. and Golden Entertainment, Inc.  Meghan has represented the financing sources on a number of recent acquisitions, including the acquisition by HD Supply’s Waterworks division by Clayton Dubilier & Rice and the acquisition of American Casino & Entertainment Properties by Golden Entertainment. 

Meghan has experience practicing in a variety of industries, including telecommunications and media, entertainment, healthcare, financial services, retail and food services, gaming and industrials.

In 2024, Meghan was shortlisted for the Women in Business Law Awards Americas, Debt Capital Markets Lawyer of the Year. Meghan is recognized as a Rising Star Partner by IFLR1000 and by Law360 as a 2022 Rising Star in the area of Capital Markets – one of five attorneys in the country under 40 to receive that recognition. Meghan was also named a Rising Star in Equity Capital Markets as a part of IFLR’s Rising Stars Awards 2022 Americas.  She currently serves as Co-Chair of the firm’s Legal Recruiting Committee.
