Herb Washer Named a Litigator of the Year by The American Lawyer

Herb Washer, Co-Chair of Cahill’s Executive Committee and Chair of the Litigation Department, has been named a winner of the “Litigator of the Year” award as part of The American Lawyer’s 2023 Industry Awards, one of only eight litigators nationwide to be recognized. This year’s winners represent the best of the best across the legal profession and are meant to honor historic tenets of the profession along with its promise of continued evolution for the better.
Among other precedent-setting matters and victories during the contest period, in October 2022, Herb led a trial team that secured a landmark jury trial victory for Credit Suisse in connection with a case alleging it and 15 other banks had violated federal antitrust laws by fixing prices in the $5 trillion-per-day foreign exchange currency market. As a result of the victory, the team was recognized as The American Lawyer’s Litigators of the Week, and The National Law Journal’s Class Action/Mass Tort Litigation and General Litigation “Trailblazers.”
