Floyd Abrams Honored with American Lawyer Lifetime Achievement Award

Floyd Abrams has been honored by The American Lawyer with the 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award. The award, which honors attorneys with distinguished careers who have achieved notable professional and pro bono/government or civic success, will be presented to Floyd at an awards ceremony to be held October 29th in New York City.
Floyd is recognized for being at the "forefront" of First Amendment law, including his representation of The New York Times in the Pentagon Papers case, Senator Mitch McConnell in a challenge to federal election financing and defending Times reporters Judith Miller and Matthew Cooper in their efforts to protect their confidential sources.
Also receiving this year's Award are Walter Dellinger, Stuart Eizenstat, Joan Hall, Charles James, Abe Krash, Ronald Olson and Barton Winokur.
